South West Squad training dates for all athletes with a Power of 10 (SW) ranking

All will be at the Bath HPC. Intermediate dates for County and inter-county training, I hope will be announced next month.

A CELEBRATION OF SPEED – THE CARN BREA RELAYS, will take place on Thursday

evening 12th September. The programme will be sent out separately when the sponsorship is finalised.

SOUTH WEST INTER COUNTIES TRACK AND FIELD is at Exeter on 5th August. If you want to know how

your athletes can qualify, then go to the England Athletics/South West website, but basically, up to three per

 event if they have reached the qualifying standard

TRELISKE RESEARCH. The research project to compare the cardio vascular system of athletes against sedentary people has been delayed by the lack of non athletic volunteers. To date, 17 athletes have been tested against 10 non athletes. When a status quo is reached, then the results will be revealed.

UK COACHING CERTIFICATE (UKCC) The current UKA Certificate equates to the UKCC which will gradually replace it so that every sport has an equal standard at every level. But it will not happen overnight.

IT WOULD BE AN ADVANTAGE TO YOUR CLUB TO HAVE AS MANY QUALIFIED COACHES AS POSSIBLE, SO WHY NOT RECRUIT A FEW MORE.

Finally, there is a County Athletic Development Plan which a representative committee have been looking at and it will be unfolded as the details are finalised.
