Sandy Hill Physical Therapy Centre

Cornish Roadrunning Grand Prix Series 2007

Intro

Welcome to everyone for the Sandy Hill Physical Therapy Centre Grand Prix Awards 2007

The 2007 GP comprised a full compliment of races, which meant that 8 races were needed to qualify, from 14.

Roadrunning in Cornwall is still going from strength to strength, with the majority of races showing increased entries.

2007 has seen 478 men and 397 ladies entering at least one event, with 142 completing 8 or more races.

In addition to this there are the winners of male and female Veteran categories, and 18 runners have completed all fourteen races.

A new running club will be joining the Grand Prix for 2008, St Austell Running Club. This is a big area of Mid Cornwall that has never had a running club.

Tim Cotton and Robin Tucker at St Austell Trophies have provided the trophies for this presentation, and as they only received the final numbers on Wednesday this week, and had to order extra finishers memento’s, I think they have done an excellent job.

If any Race Directors’ or clubs would like to consider Tim for their club clothing, race prizes or memento’s, please contact him.

The email address is sales@staustell-trophies.co.uk or 01726 73077

They also have a website : www.staustell-trophies.co.uk

Introduction to Ged Gilchrist, owner of Sandy Hill Physical Therapy Centre. (01726 67567)

GP is again indebted to Ged and his physiotherapy practice in St Austell, for their generous support and sponsorship.

Their sponsorship is spent totally on these prizes, and Ged is now in his 2nd year of a 3 year agreement.

Ged also offers a discount to GP participants who attend his practice, and he has confirmed that he will be sponsoring the GP for 2008.

He is considering running a ‘Running Niggles and Injuries’ Clinic in the near future and I hope it will be well supported.

Hand over to Ged to say a few words.
