CORNWALL ROAD RUNNING AND RACING GROUP CONSTITUTION

Aims:

• To be an umbrella organisation to monitor the running of races in Cornwall.
  
• To determine which races are to be included in the Grand Prix series and to consider applications from other Cornish races that wish to be included in the Grand Prix.
  
• To carry out a post race review of the races in the Grand Prix series and recommend actions to improve safety and quality.
  
• To be responsible for collecting funds by levy or Sponsorship to cover the running costs of the Grand Prix and provide suitable prizes and trophies for category winners and qualifiers.
  
• To manage the rules of the Grand Prix and arbitrate on queries and disputes and amend the rules as necessary.
  
• To promote the Grand Prix and to encourage club runners to compete in Grand Prix events.
  
• To encourage all running clubs in Cornwall and race organizers to be represented at the revue meetings.
  
• To promote safe running in the County and provide help and advice to race organisers.

Rules:

• Clubs Affiliated to Road Running in Cornwall are automatically members of the “Cornwall Road Running & Racing Group”.
  
• The “Cornwall Road Running & Racing Group” will hold quarterly meetings where the matters relating to the Grand Prix and any other appropriate business will be discussed.
  
• Affiliated Running Clubs and Grand Prix race organizers are requested to provide representatives to the meetings.
  
• An Annual General Meeting will be convened in Late September of each year where the following business will be conducted;
  • Approve minutes of the last AGM. And deal with matters arising.
  • Audit Accounts.
  • Agree/Amend Constitution.
  • Agree/Amend and Grand Prix Rule Changes.
  • Finalise the races that will be awarded “Grand Prix.” Status in the forthcoming year
  • Set annual race levies.
  • Elect Officers, Chairman, Secretary, Treasurer, Results Collator and other posts as required.
    
• Allocation of “Cornwall Road Running & Racing Group” funds and all decisions must be agreed by at least two thirds of affiliated member clubs representatives present at the meeting. (one club one vote).

Dissolution.

• In the event of the “Cornwall Road Running & Racing Club”, ceasing, all outstanding funds shall be divided between the affiliated road running clubs that still exist.
