REVIEW OF EVENTS.
5 Tors. (157 entries-2009, 120-2008) IR reported it went well. Excellent weather. JS based in café worked ok. Next years date 21-03-10
An Resek
Hellys (452
entries 2009, 477-2008) DC reported
Carn were happy with the day- it was the first time for them. No hiccups. IR-Very well organised, better finish
area this year. Next years date 28-03-10
Trevornick 10 (272 entries 2009, 1st
year ) GD-Club were happy with the event. IR-Excellently run. Next
years date 09-05-10
Whitemoor 10k (108 entries-2009, 93-2008)
GD-Steve White the organiser was
happy. PS-Everything went well. Next years date 04-04-10
Boconnoc 5 (142 entries 2009, not held
2008) St Johns & PB-Very happy. Weather –very wet.
Directions to Race HQ require improvement. IR-Good
fun.
Cubert 5 (606 entries 2009, 599-2008) GD-The
best ever. No loo,s positioned at the start. No baggage lorry. All runners
through the start inside 27seconds. PS-
Re traffic control,support and help from local police was excellent. Use of
dictaphones on the finish for the first time very useful. Next years date 01-06-10
Sticker 5. (519 entries 2009,
442-2008) PB-Big increase in
numbers. Start area rather narrow for that size field. Extra loo,s very
beneficial, dictaphones very useful.Fun run numbers (140) also well up. RC-Good event. Next years date 19-06-10
Meet Your Max. (153 entries 2009,
180+-2008) RC-Numbers possibily down
because of late publicity etc. Nick Jeanes (organiser ) pleased, no one got
lost or injured. Slight blip on the route taken on the night. Distance
confirmed as around 6.6 miles. Course very dry.
GRAND PRIX
MATTERS. DA
advised that next group meeting would also incorporate the AGM, with a review
of the Constitution and Rules.

to increase the number of counting runners in the ladies teams from 4 to 6.

banning of I.Pods and similar in GP races.

PB suggested that Derek
Burrows be given go ahead to purchase a Stop Watch printer. AB to action.
Roger Carter raised question (via GB) of possibility of requesting a
visit from the “flying coach” All clubs could merge for such a visit. RC to action.
COUNTY
MATTERS: IR-The
Race Directors “Online Licencing” facility was now up and running.
TREASURERS
REPORT. Not
available as JS was in hospital.

Summer Turkey Trot. AB advised of 7pm start this year, hog roast on the night and a
request from each club to distribute numbers on the night.
2010 Blaythorne 10. BC advised race now known as the Stormforce 10.Race HQ will be at
Camborne School, with all required facilities. Start close to the present start
where there will be a baggage bus, finish will be at the school.
Launceston Half. DG advised he did not have a sponsor this year, so entry fees would
increase slightly. All proceeds of race would be going to Marie Curie.
Truro Half. RC
advised chips would be used again. Last years problems to be learnt from and he
would advise Race entries secretary of necessary requirements and wish list.
Regional Report. IR advised 1) Nigel Rowe and Paul Ross re-elected to EA Council.
2)A Road Running Development Pathway was being looked at. 3) This years SWArea
Championships would be a half marathon on Oct 18th and incorporated
within the Dartmoor Vale Half Marathon.
GB advised the Looe Pioneers
were investigating the possibility of putting on a half marathon in 2010.
IQ Half marathon. KB advertised that there would be no parking at the Race HQ. All competitors would be using local car
parks on the nearby industrial estate.
PS advised that there were far
too many instances of runners dropping out of races and then failing to notify
any official that they had done so. Notice to go on all club websites reminding
their runners of their responsibilities. DA
